Xbox 360 Dashboard update
OK,OK so the little mii-vatar portion of the update is really, REALLY stupid. But everything else looks fairly awesome. Netflix movie playback is very cool (auto-detect HD), the ability to install games to your hard drive is also very nice, especially for those cache intensive games (i.e. Oblivion). The Xbox Guide is actually useful now, giving you quick access to almost everything you could need. So let’s hear it for freedom hating.

Fedora 9 released
Fedora 9 has been released. Check out the review at Ars Technica. I am downloading the release currently and will be loading it on a VM. From the article:
Fedora 9 delivers a cutting edge desktop stack with the latest software and version 2.6.25 of the Linux kernel. This release includes GNOME 2.22, which has some significant improvements like the GVFS virtual filesystem abstraction layer. This is also the first version of Fedora to offer KDE 4, a long-awaited overhaul of the KDE environment. Firefox 3 beta 5—which uses less memory and provides a vastly improved browsing experience compared to Firefox 2—is shipped as the default browser.
